Gurukul International Multidisciplinary Research Journal (GIMRJ) follows a transparent and rigorous peer-review process to maintain the academic quality, originality, integrity, and relevance of the research articles published in the journal.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

All manuscripts submitted to GIMRJ are initially examined by the Editorial Team to determine whether they:

  • fall within the aims and scope of the journal;
  • follow the journal’s Author Guidelines;
  • meet basic academic and technical requirements;
  • contain sufficient scholarly content; and
  • comply with the journal’s ethical and publication requirements.

Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or may be rejected without external peer review.

2. Plagiarism and Originality Check

Submitted manuscripts may be checked using appropriate plagiarism-detection and similarity-checking procedures.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted work is original and that all sources, quotations, data, figures, and previously published materials are properly acknowledged.

Manuscripts involving significant plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated information, or other forms of research misconduct may be rejected.

3. External Peer Review

Research articles that pass the initial editorial screening are normally sent for external peer review.

GIMRJ follows a Double-Blind Peer Review process wherever practicable, under which:

  • reviewers are not provided with the identity of the authors; and
  • authors are not provided with the identity of the reviewers.

The journal may use qualified reviewers with appropriate subject expertise to evaluate the manuscript.

4. Reviewer Evaluation

Reviewers are requested to evaluate manuscripts based on factors including:

  • originality and novelty;
  • relevance to the journal’s scope;
  • academic and scientific quality;
  • clarity of objectives;
  • methodology and research design;
  • analysis and interpretation;
  • validity of conclusions;
  • quality and relevance of references;
  • ethical considerations, where applicable; and
  • overall contribution to the field.

Reviewers may recommend:

  1. Accept
  2. Accept with Minor Revisions
  3. Major Revision and Resubmission
  4. Reject

The final editorial decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or an authorized member of the Editorial Team after considering the reviewers’ comments and the overall quality of the manuscript.

5. Revision of Manuscripts

When revisions are requested, authors should submit:

  • a revised version of the manuscript; and
  • a point-by-point response explaining how each reviewer comment has been addressed.

A revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewer(s) for further evaluation when necessary.

6. Editorial Independence

Peer-review and publication decisions are based primarily on the academic quality, originality, relevance, and ethical standards of the manuscript.

The journal does not guarantee publication merely because a manuscript has been submitted or because publication charges have been paid.

Payment of any applicable Article Processing Charge does not influence the academic peer-review decision.

7. Reviewer Confidentiality

Reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality regarding manuscripts received for review.

Reviewers must not:

  • disclose manuscript contents to others;
  • use unpublished information for personal advantage;
  • copy or distribute manuscript materials; or
  • contact authors directly about the manuscript without authorization from the journal.

8. Reviewer Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers should decline a review assignment if they have a conflict of interest that could affect their impartiality.

Potential conflicts may include:

  • personal relationships;
  • professional competition;
  • institutional relationships;
  • financial interests; or
  • other circumstances that could compromise objective evaluation.

9. Editorial Conflicts of Interest

Editors and editorial-board members should disclose relevant conflicts of interest and should not participate in editorial decisions where their impartiality may reasonably be questioned.

10. Publication Decision

The final decision to publish, revise, or reject a manuscript rests with the Editor-in-Chief or the designated Editorial Team member.

The journal reserves the right to reject a manuscript at any stage if serious ethical, academic, legal, or publication-integrity concerns are identified.

11. Appeals

Authors who believe that an editorial decision was made because of a significant factual or procedural error may submit an appeal to the Editorial Office.

Appeals should provide clear reasons and relevant supporting information. The Editor-in-Chief may review the appeal and, where appropriate, seek an additional independent opinion.

12. Review Timeline

GIMRJ aims to process manuscripts efficiently while maintaining appropriate academic standards.

The time required for peer review may vary depending on:

  • subject area;
  • availability of qualified reviewers;
  • reviewer response time;
  • manuscript complexity; and
  • number of revisions required.

The journal does not compromise the quality of peer review solely to meet a particular publication schedule.

13. Ethical Standards

GIMRJ expects authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial-board members to follow accepted principles of research and publication ethics.

Concerns involving plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, authorship disputes, conflicts of interest, or other forms of misconduct may be investigated according to the journal’s Publication Ethics and Malpractice Policy.

14. Policy Updates

GIMRJ may periodically review and update this Peer Review Policy to maintain alignment with recognized scholarly publishing and research-integrity practices.
