Gender issues are not just about talking about women’s problems. Rather, understanding gender about understands the opportunities, challenges and the impact of change on genders, men and women. Sexuality and gender together can make a big difference in people’s lives – between well-being and illness, and sometimes between life and death. Sexuality is a biological fact and a necessity for reproduction; yet there is great diversity in the experiences of sexuality, its sexual expression, and the meanings it gives to it in different cultures around the world. Sexuality is a psychosocial phenomenon. It is not treated equally on the basis of sex. Sexuality is a contributing factor to inequality, injustice, and poverty.
