Abstract: Mahavakya Tattvamasi is the Statement of Instruction from the Chandogya Upanishad. It shows the identity between Brahma and Jiva, which is the nerve of Advaita Darshan. It does not remain confine to the traditional texts of Advaita Darshan but also finds its place in the modern ones too. Let us see how the mahavakya Tattvamasi unravels itself in varied forms and names.

Key Words: Mahavakya, Tatvamasi, Advaita, Vedanta, Adi Shankaracharya.
