Abstract

Environmental education (EE) is a crucial aspect of sustainable development, and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 recognizes its importance in shaping responsible future citizens. Integrating EE into teacher training is vital for fostering an environmentally conscious mindset among educators, who, in turn, can influence students effectively. This concept note explores the necessity, significance, and contemporary relevance of EE in teacher training under NEP 2020, emphasizing findings from recent studies and suggesting a roadmap for implementation.
