Abstract

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 aims to revolutionize India’s education system by emphasizing holistic, multidisciplinary, and skill-based learning. Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) serve as pivotal agents in translating this vision into reality by preparing educators with modern pedagogical skills and learner-centric approaches. This paper explores the role of TEIs in implementing NEP 2020, focusing on curriculum restructuring, technological integration, and professional development. It highlights the challenges faced by TEIs, including resistance to change, infrastructure limitations, and faculty upskilling needs. Additionally, it proposes strategies for capacity building and policy collaboration to ensure successful NEP 2020 execution. By aligning their programs with the policy’s objectives, TEIs can significantly contribute to transforming India’s educational landscape and fostering a new generation of competent educators.
