Abstract

The study titled “Diwali: From Inner Illumination to Ecological Reflection  Balancing Tradition, Science, and Sustainability” seeks to explore the dynamic relationship between cultural tradition and environmental consciousness. Using a qualitative approach based on secondary data, the research analyzes existing literature, reports, and media sources to trace the evolution of Diwali celebrations in the context of growing ecological awareness. It further interprets secondary data from previous studies, government documents, and environmental organization publications to identify emerging trends and challenges in promoting sustainable and eco-friendly practices during the festival. The findings highlight a gradual shift from conventional practices toward environmentally responsible celebrations through innovations such as green fireworks, clay diyas, and community awareness campaigns. The study underscores the importance of integrating scientific understanding and environmental ethics with traditional spirituality, thereby presenting Diwali as both a festival of inner illumination and ecological reflection
