Comparative Interpretation of Kathopanishad, Paramahansa Yogananda’s Gita, and Dr. Joe Dispenza’s Teachings: An Interdisciplinary Perspective
Arpita Garud, M.A. Psychology, Pune.
Abstract This paper explores the symbolic dialogue between Nachiketa and Yama in the Kathopanishad, comparing the three (and a symbolic fourth) boons granted to Nachiketa with interpretations from Paramahansa Yogananda’s commentary on the Bhagavad Gita and insights from Dr. Joe Dispenza’s neuroscience-based spirituality. Through a psycho-spiritual lens, we integrate modern psychological and neurobiological perspectives to deepen our understanding of restraint, energy transformation, transcendence, and integrated surrender. The study reveals a triadic harmony of Vedanta, Yoga, and modern mind science, offering a framework for spiritual growth and mental well-being.
