Abstract: Bal Gangadhar Tilak was one of the most prominent freedom fighters who raised his voice against injustice and suppression whether political or social, especially when the country was shackled in chains. Any slave country does not only suffer economically but loses its strength to fight with self-confidence. He played different roles right from his student age. He contributed in education, journalism and political field in idealistic manner. Though he had to suffer a lot due to this but he never compromised with his principles. Though he was considered as an extremist but was equally respected by the moderates.
