Abstract :-
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming and growing in various sectors which now also includes library and information science. Libraries were first limited to only physical catalogues and manual operations but now they are also introduced to AI to glorify the user experience, to automate routine tasks and to enhance information discovery. Various AI technologies have been adopted such as machine learning, robotics, computer vision etc. This paper gives information about the integration of AI in library science, its benefits, practical application and also about the challenges. From creating automated cataloging to digital preservation tools, AI offers transformative solutions. It also includes discussing the future prospects of AI driven smart libraries and the evolving role of librarians in an AI powdered information system.
