Abstract
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into English literary studies has opened new frontiers for critical engagement with texts. Traditionally, literary criticism has been rooted in human interpretation, cultural context, and subjective analysis. However, AI-driven tools now provide quantitative insights, pattern recognition, sentiment analysis, and stylistic examinations that enrich the critical process. This paper explores the role of AI as a literary critic, examining its methodologies, contributions, limitations, and implications for future scholarship. It highlights how AI can complement, rather than replace, human interpretation, fostering a more dynamic and multi-dimensional understanding of literature.
