Abstract
The Hostel environment plays a crucial role in shaping the academic performance of students, particularly at the postgraduate level where academic demands are high. This study investigates the influence of various hostel-related factors—including living conditions, peer interactions, study facilities, noise levels, and administrative support—on the academic performance of postgraduate students at the University of Burdwan. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through structured questionnaires and in-depth interviews from a representative sample of hostel residents. In the data analysis, it has been found that there exists significant and positive relationship between the hostel environment and students’ academic performance.
